Jessica:

Yes, Final Cut X is much better with a lot more features. Will the image quality be different? It all depends what you're trying to do with the features of it. I would go to an Apple Store and do a demo to see if it's worth the extra features.

Do you think Final Cut Pro X is that much better than Imovie, meaning is it worth dropping $300 for it. I'm very comfortable on Imovie but FCP seems like a much bigger pain in the butt and the quality really isn't better. Is it me?

Hi Kurt, the Pomfort DSLR Log2Video at http://pomfort.com/plugins/dslrlog2video.html seems to be just 29 USD or 19 EUR... maybe worth investing in at that price?

Great points! The exposure was dark due to the variable ND filter being set too far. It's been fixed in post!

When using Cinestyle important to not judge exposure soley thru LiveView, tendency is to underexpose since the image looks light and washed out. Instead, take a still, view the histogram and adjust the exposure to the right without clipping highlights. Adjusting exposure down slightly is better in post than the alternative to avoid noise artifacts. Even better use a light meter for your first exposure and then check against the histogram. As an alternative to Cinestyle, try Cinegrey, which I think is a better alternative than simply shooting neutral with contrast dialed down.

You're not syncing them in tracks, but in the event folder. Right click select each pair one at a time.

When you have multiple takes of the same scene or multiple scenes, do you have to sync each video track to each audio track individually or can you choose six video tracks and six audio tracks, choose synchronize and have all six result in new synchronized clips? Thanks for your help.

I have tried this trick from the article with a zoom H4n into a D7000 and appear to get no sound at all into the the camera. Has anybody done this and made it work. I have tried undamped cables and a -25db cable to no avail.
